Cambodia Passive Cooling Community of Practice
Better buildings. Cooler communities.
Advancing Comfortable, Affordable and Energy-Efficient Buildings through Passive Cooling.
About the Community of Practice
Working together for a cooler, more resilient Cambodia.
The Cambodia Passive Cooling Community of Practice is a collaborative platform that brings together architects, engineers, policymakers, researchers, educators, developers, and students to advance passive cooling solutions for Cambodia’s built environment.
Through knowledge sharing, technical resources, training, and collaborative initiatives, the Community promotes building designs that improve comfort, reduce energy demand, strengthen climate resilience, and support a more sustainable future for Cambodia.
Why passive cooling?
Climate-responsive design works with shade, airflow, orientation, materials and daylight to make buildings more comfortable with less energy.
Reduced cooling costs
Use less mechanical cooling and lower household and operating expenses.
Improved indoor comfort
Create cooler, calmer interior spaces throughout Cambodia’s hottest months.
Lower electricity demand
Reduce peak demand and pressure on homes, buildings and the wider energy system.
Reduced energy costs
Improve long-term affordability by designing efficiency into the building itself.
Climate resilience
Keep buildings safer and more usable during extreme heat and power constraints.
Reduced emissions
Cut operational energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from the built environment.
Health benefits
Support better ventilation, thermal comfort and healthier places to live and work.
